In the name of safety, and maximizing the #fun, we’ve put some guidelines together for DRC Runners. Peep.

 

A COMMITMENT TO RUNNING
As the DRC community continues to grow we want you to grow with it. It’s bigger than just showing up for #runwithus Wednesdays. We want to get better everyday, run some races, earn a few medals, cheer for fellow runners, travel with us, and most of importantly, value all that running and #crewlove has to offer.

RUN GROUPS
DRC has launched 3 dedicated run groups that are led each week and each run by DRC Run Captains. In each group, there is a lead pacer and sweeper pacer. All runners are required to stay between the lead and the sweep for the duration of runs unless released by a Captain. We are striving to keep the DRC running experience safe and in control!

FLYERS (ADVANCED GROUP)
This group is for runners comfortable running 3+ miles straight at a 6:45min – 8min per mile pace. There is no walking in this group.

MOVERS (MODERATE GROUP)

This group is for runners comfortable running 3+ miles at a 8:00min – 9:30min per mile pace. There is no walking in this group.

CRUISERS (BEGINNER GROUP)
This group is for runners working up to running 3 miles straight at 9:30min – 12min per mile pace.

 

CHECK-IN  PROCESS

IMPORTANT: We have a new check-in procedure (yeah…we’re official)! This is a requirement EVERY week and for EVERYone. And by everyone, we mean regulars, newbies, members, non-members, your grandma, even Michelle Obama.

Peep the steps below…

1. Once you arrive on Wednesday, look for the QR code signs that are posted around Capital Fringe.

2. If you have an iPhone, open your camera app and hover the screen over the code (don’t click the button as if you’re taking a pic). A pop-up will show at the top of your phone’s screen.

3. Click the pop-up and submit the requested info.

The alternative…

1. Go to www.districtrunningcollective.com on your phone and click on the menu in the top right corner.

2. Click on “Wednesday Run Check-In”

3. Submit the requested info.

If that still doesn’t work…

Ask a captain!

 

LEAVE YOUR EGO AT THE CRIB
We’re here to motivate each other and run together. If you feel the need to impress someone by how fast you are then this is not the place for you. *DRC shrug*

SAFETY 1ST!
Let’s actually obey traffic laws. If you come up on a yellow light, and the runner behind you is more than a car’s length behind you, go ahead and stop. Don’t just run into the street. We promise you won’t miss ANY miles. Please also be aware of your surroundings and the people running with you.

INTRODUCE YOURSELF!
Each run, introduce yourself to at least 2 people in your pace group. In the unfortunate event something were to happen while hitting the pavement, its important someone knows your name. And…why not get to know a couple new people!

ONE EARBUD OUT
We want our runners to motivate one another. We also want runners to be aware of what’s going on and hear instructions that might change during the run. You can’t do that if Fetty Wap is blasting at full volume in your headphones.

RULES OF EXHALE
Limited bag check available -come dressed to run if possible.
Be mindful of the Exhale,  patrons and staff.
Tip your bartenders!
Be courteous. When you run with us you are a reflection of us…and we’re watching!
