District 19 will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, with the start and finish at Sandlot Anacostia, 633 Howard Rd SE, Washington, DC 20020

5K: 8:30 AM

The event includes a 19 Mile, 19K, and 5K. Each participant receives a race T-shirt, bib, timing device, finisher medal, and post-race refreshments

District 19 was created in 2020 during COVID cancellations to give DC runners a long-distance challenge. The name “19” pays homage to those we lost and the perspective gained during that time

Packet pickup will be at The Village Café (1325 5th St NE, Suite G2, Washington, DC):
Friday, Oct 3 – 5:00–8:00 PM
Saturday, Oct 4 – 9:00 AM–2:30 PM
Yes, someone else can pick up your bib if they bring your confirmation email or written note

Registration & Bib Pickup

Yes. Free parking is available at the Anacostia Metro Station garage and nearby lots (Poplar Point, Anacostia Park)

Yes, the closest station is Anacostia Metro (Green Line), about a 10-minute walk from Sandlot Anacostia

No. This is an unsanctioned road and trail race; runners must obey traffic rules and be mindful of vehicles

Runners will self-seed themselves into groups at the start line according to your Wednesday run pace. Flyer, Mover, Groovers, Cruisers.

All races have a 5-hour limit from the last wave. By 12:30 PM, all runners must be off course

Yes, children secured in strollers are allowed on the course.
On-Course Experience

Please try to arrive at least 30 minutes before your race starts

Restrooms are available at the start/finish at Sandlot Anacostia.
Public restrooms are available along the course and will be identified on the course map.

5K: 1 station

Notify a volunteer at a water station, course marshal, or bike marshal so staff know you’re safe

Yes, medical professionals will be present at water stations and at the start/finish

Yes, but runners are encouraged to keep one earbud out for safety
Amenities & Services

T-shirts, medals, and post race fuel/refreshment

Yes, bag check opens at 6:30 AM at Sandlot Anacostia and closes promptly at 12:30 PM

Yes, photographers will be on course and at the festival

Results will be posted online via the official District 19 registration platform after the race
Community & Post-Race

Spectators are encouraged to gather at Sandlot Anacostia or along the course at designated water/cheer stations. A Family Cheer Zone is also designated at Anacostia Dr SE & South Capitol St SE

Yes, prizes will be given to the top finishers for each race

The District 19 Festival will feature snacks, recovery services (Athletic Recovery Lab), music, and community celebrations at Sandlot Anacostia
Safety & Weather

We’re running rain or shine! There could be cool weather, rain storms or high heat in DC in early October so please be prepared for the weather conditions on race day. If weather conditions are unsafe, we will notify all runners.
