Saturday Long Run + Service Saturday at Grounded Café & Plant Shop
Plant Shop, Café, and Wellness Studio.
Our space is designed to be a third place where people can enjoy the benefits of biophilic design, sip healthy drinks, and move their bodies in our wellness studio.
This week, we’re switching things up. Our Saturday Long Run is moving from Union Market to Grounded Café & Plant Shop—and we’re launching our first DRC Service Saturday in partnership with WABA and our nonprofit arm, District Running Community.
Instead of just logging miles, we’ll be using this run to conduct a run audit that will help inform DC leadership on how to make green spaces more accessible for residents in Wards 7 and 8. This is your chance to lace up and contribute to meaningful change in our city.
After the miles, stick around for activations, lite bites for the soul, and good vibes inside Grounded’s beautiful plant-filled space.
15% off all drinks and plants during your visit (just mention DRC)
Optional wellness classes in the Grounded Wellness Studio — book ahead here with code MIG2025 for 15% off (mats provided)
Learn more about Grounded’s Plant Shop, Café, and Wellness Studio with a short welcome + tour from their team
DRC Service Saturday + Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA)
Why it matters: We’ll use our miles to conduct a run audit that will inform DC leadership about how to make green spaces more accessible to residents in Wards 7 and 8. Then hang back for activations and lite bites for the soul.
District Running Community Mission:
District Running Community's mission is to foster a healthier and more vibrant community by providing scholarships, resources, and programs that promote physical fitness, health, and wellness among youth and underserved populations. TACO RUN IS BACK
Tacos and vibes anyone!?!?
TACO RUN DC: IN COLLABORATION WITH RESIDENT RUNNERS
@ Bodega Taqueria y Tequila
Taco Run is BACK. District Running Collective is teaming up with Resident Runners NYC to bring their legendary Taco Run series back to DC for the first time since pre-pandemic days. Whether you're here for the miles or just showing up for the post-run vibes, this event is for the everyone.
Start the morning with your choice of a long run at 7AM or a social 5K at 8:30AM, then stick around for the real party. At 10AM, we flip the switch with a post-run day party at the newly opened Bodega Taqueria y Tequila, located in the heart of Dupont. With a speakeasy-style space that's already making noise in DC’s nightlife scene, Bodega is quickly becoming one of the city’s go-to destinations—and now, we’re adding our run flavor to the mix.
Enjoy taco and drink specials, great people, and a full vibe provided by Friends on Mars (DRC) and Rahsaan (Bedford Corners).
Parking: Ride share (Uber / Lyft), Metro Station Foggy Bottom (5 min walk) or neighborhood street parking.

Plogging the Trail Information
"Plogging" is a combination of jogging with picking up litter—merging the Swedish verbs plocka upp (pick up) and jogga (jog) gives the new Swedish verb plogga, from which the word plogging derives). It started as an organized activity in Sweden around 2016 and spread to other countries in 2018, following increased concern about plastic pollution.
As with each of the previous years, Juneteenth Marathon will provide all plogging equipment (trash pickers, trash bags & nylon/roofing gloves) as well as non-alcoholic refreshments courtesy of Athletic Brewing. Juneteenth Marathon will also provide each run club $100 to cover any pre- and/or post-plogging refreshments the run club wishes to provide for attending/participating members. However, for this year’s iteration of “Plogging the Trails”, we’ll be ‘raising the stakes’ so to speak and introducing something new by incorporating a point-based competition to the mix. In a nutshell, each participating run club will receive points based on three different components of their plogging event:
· Plogging Participation - 1 POINT awarded for each plogging participant in attendance· Trash Collected - 2 POINTS awarded for each trash bag filled or large item collected
· Trail Covered – 3 POINTS awarded for each 0.1mi of trail covered
