With the weight of a devastating global pandemic, being homebound, continued injustices towards Black people and a pivotal election around the corner, it’s hard to be hopeful. But in the midst of all the chaos, we show gratitude and celebrate being here, alive, and healthy in this particular moment in time. One step, one breath and one mile at a time, our community stands strong and presses forward together. District 19 is a dynamic race experience created to help DC runners cope with the cancellation of the fall race season and long-distance race experience during the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic. We chose the number 19 for our race series to collectively pay homage to those we’ve lost but also the tremendous perspective we’ve all gained this year so far. Our miles are dedicated to you. DRC is not just a run crew and District 19 is not just a race; it is a platform for change! Through our miles and our voices, we advocate for social justice, an end to police brutality, and greater voter awareness. For our city, our communities and the culture. We run DC. We are DRC.
